B & Co client completes 3 Peaks Challenge
Howard Bond, Managing Director of HB Management & Construction Services Ltd based in Burton-on-Trent together with 4 others, including 3 committee members of the Burton branch of the M.S Society, completed the 3 peaks sponsored walk on Saturday 21st August 2010 in 11 hours and 20 minutes and collectively raised over £3,500 for the Burton branch.
The weather was extremely kind and although there was heavy rain in Burton, it didn't rain once during the walk. However, everyone got very wet whilst navigating through the boggy marshland between the Peny-y-ghent and Whernside Peak. Secretary Andy Marler went up to above his waist in mud when he fell in the marsh and had to completely change his clothing after he was 'pulled' out.
The 24.5 mile walk took in the mountains peaks of Whernside (736 m/2,415 ft), Ingleborough (723 m/2,372 ft) and Pen-y-ghent (694 m/2,277 ft) which are collectively known as the (Yorkshire) Three Peaks in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Bourne & Co were extremely pleased to sponosor the walk and the group would like to thank all sponsors for their kind generousity.
