Bourne & Co are pleased to be associated with Team Wathall as they launch their charity bike ride.
Michaela Edwards whose husband, Paul Edwards, is finance Director at G Wathall & Son Ltd - an independent firm of Funeral Directors based in Derby, is the main force behind the idea of the charity bike ride.
The bike ride from Derby to Paris (a distance of over 400 miles) will commence on 29th April 2012 with the cyclists hoping to reach the Eiffel Tower in Paris by May 4th.
The team from Wathalls is raising money for The Laura Centre Derby Appeal which was launched recently to try and raise £150,000 to enable the charity to establish a base in the Derby area.
The Laura Centre was originally set up in Leicester by Gail and Harry Moore following the death of their daughter, Laura, in January 1989 at the age of just 5 years old.
The charity provides dedicated, highly specialised bereavement counselling and support for when a child dies or is bereaved.
Over the years, the charity has gained national recognition for its cutting edge approach and clinical excellence in the field of family bereavement.
The charity is now hoping to be able to offer such support to the city of Derby and its surrounding areas by establishing The Laura Centre Derby.
